Face Lift

A Face Lift, technically known as a rhytidectomy (literally, surgical removal of wrinkles), is a type of cosmetic surgery procedure used to give a more youthful appearance. It usually involves the tightening of facial skin while getting rid of the excess folds and tightening of the underlying tissues if required. Face Lifts are thus helpful for eliminating loose skin folds in the neck and the laxity of tissues in the cheeks.

- Creases along the nose and mouth (often referred to as “laugh lines”)

Procedure
Anaesthesia: It can be performed under General Anesthesia or Deep Twilight Sleep.
Duration of procedure: It takes about 2-3 hours for the procedure. If other procedures are performed simultaneously then the duration will be longer.
Incision: The facelift scars once healed, are usually not visible. Thus the incision is placed in front of the ear extending up into the hairline. The incision curves around the bottom of the ear and then behind it, usually ending near the hairline on the back of the neck.
Inpatient/Outpatient Procedure
It is an inpatient procedure with a short hospital stay of 1 – 2 days.
For some patients under some conditions, the procedure is also performed as an outpatient, that is, the patient can go home the same day.
- The client can get back to work in 1-2 weeks
- Strenuous activity can be performed after 2 weeks
- Recovery from bruising will take upto 2-3 weeks
- One must limit exposure to the sun for several months
