Procedure
- Anaesthesia: Local anaesthesia +/- light reduction or General anaesthesia if you are having other facial procedures done at the same time
- Duration of procedure: The procedure takes about 45 minutes
- Incision: The incision is about 1 cm long and placed either behind the angle of your lower jaw, behind the ear lobe, just beneath your chin or between your gums and the bottom of your inner lower lip.
- It is done by the traditional method of power-assisted liposuction. Laser-assisted liposuction is offered for very small fat deposits.

Inpatient/Outpatient Procedure
It is usually an outpatient procedure, that is, the patient can go home the same day.
- Mild discomfort which is controlled with prescribed pain killers
- Some swelling and bruising
- You will likely be asked to wear a compression garment for a few weeks.
- Resuming normal work can take upto 5 days
- Any strenuous activities or visits to the gym can be done after about 2-3 weeks
- The results are immediate, though the best results are seen after some time
- Long-lasting if your activity level and weight are maintained
Facial liposuction generally carries fewer risks than liposuction performed on other body areas. These may include:
- Infection
- Bleeding
- Scarring
- Hematoma
- Seroma
