Breast Augmentation
This is the most popular cosmetic surgery done in the world with more than 1.8 million cases performed worldwide in 2018. Breast Augmentation is a surgical procedure in which breast implants are placed to fulfil your desire for fuller breasts (Breast Enlargement) or to restore breast volume lost after weight loss or pregnancy (Breast Enhancement). There are a wide variety of implants to choose from in addition to the brand – size, shape, surface firmness, and projection.
At Aesthetique, when it comes to breast augmentation, we offer one of three techniques in order to get the best natural results a woman wants – Implant-based breast enlargement, Autologous Breast Enlargement and Composite Breast Enhancement. During the pre-surgery planning, we will look at all three options to see which is the best for our client and will provide great results. This procedure is also commonly known as Breast Enhancement, Breast Enlargement or Boob Job.
Candidacy
- You are concerned that your breasts are quite small, or disproportionately small to your body build

Procedure
- Anaesthesia: General Anaesthesia.
- Duration of the procedure: It takes about 1.5 - 2 hours for the entire procedure
- Incision: Infra-mammary Incision - under the breast, in the breast fold.
- Peri Areolar - around the nipple-areola complex, at the junction of the dark and light skin.
Inpatient/Outpatient Procedure
This procedure is usually done as a day case which means the patient gets to go home on the same day.
- Can resume normal routine in 2- 3 weeks
- Strenuous activity and exercise can be resumed in 3-4 weeks
- The results of your breast augmentation surgery will be long-lasting
- Breast implants are not guaranteed to last a lifetime and future surgery may be required to replace one or both implants
- FDA recommends regular screening of your breast, initially after 3 years of procedure and then every 2 years
- Pregnancy, weight loss, and menopause may influence the appearance of augmented breasts over the course of your lifetime.

With improved implant technology there is increased safety. There is a wide variety of implants to choose from in addition to the brand – size, shape, surface firmness, and projection.
The most commonly used implants have high-grade cohesive gel silicone. However, the final decision lies with the client.
Autologous Breast Enhancement
Autologous Breast Augmentation is a surgical procedure in which we harvest your own body fat and use it to enhance the size of your breast.
- You do not want implants
- You are concerned your breasts are too small
- You want a minimal (1 cup) increase in size
- You want bigger breasts but thinking of getting it in stages
- Increase in breast size without using implants
- Increase fullness and projection of your breasts
- Improve your figure proportions
- Improve breast shape
- Correct asymmetry between the two breasts
- Enhance your self-image and self-confidence
Anaesthesia: General
Duration of the procedure: It takes about 1.5 to 2 hours for the procedure.
Incision: No incision needed, 1-2 needle puncture points at each donor area and breast
- Your fat is harvested from the donor areas (usually thighs, hips or tummy)
- Fat Processed
- Fat injected into each breast area as planned
- Home after 3-4 hours
- The client can resume work after 5-7 days (depending on the area of donor fat)
- Strenuous activity after 2-3 weeks
A portion of the injected fat melts away in the initial 4 weeks. Subject to you maintaining proper body weight is where the long-term effect is shown. This is a relatively recent procedure and early results show that the breast skin quality also improves over the years.
- Pain – No pain
- Future breast imaging mammogram – No concerns. We inject your fat around the breast gland and not into the gland –so its architecture is not disturbed or distorted
- This procedure is operator-dependent and can have great outcomes. It’s important that you have been explained what can be achieved.
- You are not a suitable candidate if, you have a large body frame, in which case the enhancement will not be appreciably big.

Composite Breast Augmentation
This is the latest technique of Breast Augmentation in which both techniques, silicone implant & own body fat are combined to achieve augmentation.
An implant is placed as per the standard Breast Augmentation procedures and the fat is then injected into specific areas for the follow-up additional benefits.
- Enhances the size
- Selectively enhances certain areas eg. the Upper pole of the breast and cleavage
- Feather the margins so that the implant margins are not visible
If you have significantly drooping breasts, then in that case Breast Augmentation would have to be combined with the Breast Uplift procedure.
